The Toronto Indie Production programme (TIP) permits eligible Canadian producers to engage ACTRA performers on long or short-form low-budget dramatic productions.The TIP minimum guideline rates have been amended below ACTRA’s Independent Production Agreement (IPA) minimum scale rates. TIP is applicable to Canadian films with budgets less than $275,000.

In the spirit of providing professional performing services on every level, ACTRA Toronto’s TIP programme demonstrates that limited funding does not have to mean nonunion casting. TIP is targeted to encourage independent filmmakers to produce films under ACTRA’s jurisdiction thereby building a solid foundation and a mutual understanding between performers and producers.

With the requirement that all producers, directors, writers, and performers are Canadian, the focus of TIP is not to only employ ACTRA members, but to provide a professional environment for emerging Canadian filmmakers. ACTRA Toronto’s membership of professional performers continues to contribute to Canadian culture with the very best in cinematic performance.
