I am incredibly honoured by the trust placed in me by the membership. Thankfully I have big feet because these are big shoes I have to step into. David Sparrow was an exceptional leader and I am glad to have him by my side, as past president, as we move forward. The hundreds of supportive letters, notes and messages I have received from membership and staff in Toronto and across the country, our industry partners, other union leaders and elected politicians, are humbling to say the least. After 20 years of service to my fellow performers at all levels of ACTRA, I know this will be an exciting but challenging two years. I’ve never seen a time at ACTRA that wasn’t challenging. But I also know that I have the smartest minds and biggest hearts with me as we move forward on important files that affect every performer.
ACTRA Toronto is your union! My door is always open. I invite you to get involved in the conversations. I need you to talk to me about your ideas or concerns.
If you haven’t done so before, please come to the ACTRA conference Feb 22-24th to hear about our 2017-18 Operating Plan priorities and take part in incredible workshops and sessions with leading directors and casting directors. Please register to attend the ACTRA Awards this year – the best party in town.
See you on set!
