Award of Excellence
Intent:
The annual ACTRA Awards in Toronto celebrate the outstanding lead
and supporting performances of ACTRA Toronto performers. The ACTRA
Awards
are a way of ‘celebrating our own’ and were re-instituted
in ACTRA branches across Canada in 2003 as part of ACTRA’s
60th Anniversary.
Criteria for Award of Excellence:
This ACTRA Toronto Award of Excellence is presented to a distinguished
ACTRA Toronto performer who has made a significant and lasting contribution
to the entertainment industry. The Award of Excellence will be selected
by the Executive and Council of ACTRA Toronto Performers.
Criteria
for ACTRA Award for Outstanding Performance – male
and female

The performer must be an ACTRA Toronto member in good standing. |

The nominated performance must be from an ACTRA-signatory production. |
* |
The production can be indigenous or international, and can be in any genre (TV series, TV movie, feature or short film). |
* |
The performance must be a lead or supporting role. |
* |
The production must have had its first exhibit or broadcast between December 1, 2005 and November 30, 2006. |

The performer must be an ACTRA Toronto member in good standing. |

The nominated performance must be from an ACTRA-signatory production. |

The performer can be either male or female for the one award. |
* |
The performance must be an original characterization in animation, radio drama/comedy, or dramatic narration. |

The production must have had its first exhibit or broadcast between December 1, 2005 and November 30, 2006. |
Submissions to the Nominating Jury are accepted from any ACTRA Toronto member (Full member, Apprentice member, ACTRA Extra) until November 30, 2006.
Submission Process:
The ACTRA Toronto membership (Full members, Apprentice members, ACTRA
Extras) will be encouraged to submit suggestions to the Nominating
Jury. Our ACTRA Award Nominees and Winners will each be determined
by a jury of peers. The Nominating Jury decides on the five final
nominees in each of the two Outstanding Performance categories. The
five nominated performances will then be screened by the final Jury.
Each jury will be comprised of five people plus a Jury Foreperson.
Submission Deadline:
Deadline for submissions from ACTRA Toronto membership: Nov. 30, 2006.
Submissions are accepted by email, fax or in writing. The production must have been exhibited or broadcast between Dec. 1, 2005 and Nov. 30, 2006.
