Cost to join ACTRA through the Apprentice Program
To become a Full member, the initiation fee is $450, plus one year’s basic dues of $195 if you join through the Apprentice program. Full ACTRA members pay working dues of 2.25% of gross earnings up to a maximum of $4,000. Basic dues are paid each year in April. Apprentice members pay a $75 initiation fee plus fees for each of the work permits required.
Cost to join ACTRA as a member of a sister organization
If you belong to a professional performers’ organization that has a reciprocal agreement with ACTRA you may join as a Full member based on your first engagement in ACTRA’s jurisdiction.
Members of the Canadian Actors’ Equity Association (CAEA) must join ACTRA after their first speaking part, SOC or background engagement in ACTRA’s jurisdiction. Equity members pay $225, which is one half of the regular initiation fee, plus $195 annual dues.
Members of SAG, AFTRA, Equity (U.K.) or the MEAA (Australia) pay a $900 initiation fee plus $195 in annual dues to join after landing a speaking part or SOC role in ACTRA’s jurisdiction.
