ACTRA Toronto member honoured with Bessie Award Congrats to Salvatore Antonio for winning the 2006 Kari Award at the TV Commercial Awards (The Bessies), presented by the Television Bureau of Canada in April. The Kari Award is presented to the best actor or actress in a commercial. The award was established in 1981 in honour of Kari Hannikainen, an actor who was tragically killed in a car accident after appearing in an acclaimed Heinz commercial. Salvatore won for his performance in “Cheeky Check Out" for the Toronto International Film Festival Group.
