Levy gets GG's lifetime achievement award 

March 12, 2008 - MONTREAL - SCTV alumnus Eugene Levy is among this year's recipients of the Governor General's Performing Arts Awards for lifetime artistic achievement.

Other honorees include Quebec rocker Michel Pagliaro, renowned pianist Anton Kuerti and filmmaker Alanis Obomsawin.

Brian Macdonald, one of Canada's foremost directors and choreographers, and playwright John Murrell are also getting the lifetime award.

Rock band the Tragically Hip will receive the National Arts Centre award for exceptional achievement over the past performance year.

The awards were announced at a news conference in Montreal today.
