ACTRA member Leslie-Ann Coles receives 2006 WIDC Alumnae Award

July 7, 2006 – At the 10th Anniversary launch event for Women in the Director’s Chair Workshop (WIDC), ACTRA Toronto member and WIDC alumna Leslie-Ann Coles received the @Wallace Studios WIDC Alumnae Award.

Leslie-Ann is a multiple award-winning filmmaker/actress and founder of the Female Eye Film Festival. She will use the prize, $10,000 worth of rental fees at Toronto-based @Wallace Studios, to direct a teaser for her new comedy television series, Variety Store. "I am honoured to be the recipient of this award. It's always wonderful when there is a reward for one’s efforts in the wild and wicked world of show making, the support this prize offers will be invaluable to my project,” said Coles.

The award was announced at the WIDC launch event, held during the Banff World Television Festival in June.
