The ACTRA Fraternal Benefit Society (AFBS) is the insurance company for full ACTRA members.

Professional performers know that their profession is unlike any other. Our work is often sporadic, with days of intense performance often followed by weeks and months of downtime. As performers, we also work for many different engagers over our careers - making it difficult if not impossible for us to be covered by the traditional insurance and retirement benefits that most other workers take for granted. That's why performers put their own insurance and retirement plan in place.

AFBS covers full ACTRA members and their eligible dependants, providing them with insurance benefits on a group basis. It also administers individual registered retirement savings plans (RRSPs) for members and their spouses.
