Payment Process Update
If you prefer to be paid as a contracted corporation, productions will likely now ask you to supply both a copy of your incorporation documents and your most recent Schedule 50, so have copies ready.
Remember, the production must pay you within fifteen calendar days, so if they don't get the required documents in time they may have to pay you as an individual instead of as a corporation, so bring copies of your documents. You may also want to keep digital copies on your iPhone or Blackberry for easy access.
Current Objectives
In 2010-2011 the committee will:
- engage with PRS on transparency, distribution policy, and collections strategies;
- engage with AFBS on transparency, the core policy issue of pooled versus individual plan design and on health & LTD plan design for high-risk performers;
- consider the merits of working for broader eligibility for Ontario workers' compensation;
- consider the issue of professional credentials; and,
- use ACTRA Toronto's website and other communications tools to reach out and involve more stunt performers in ACTRA.
- IPA Provisions Dealing with Risk Performance (A25) and Stunt Performance and Coordination (A26)
- Guide to the Ontario Health and Safety Act
- The Section 21 Film and Television Health and Safety Advisory Committee
- PRS
- AFBS
- AFBS Accident on Set
- What's Shooting (including production insurers, when known)
- ACTRA Toronto: Safety on Set
