Young Emerging Actors' Assembly (YEAA)

Who Are We?YEAA

YEAA is the Young Emerging Actors Assembly.

We have come together to forge a community for young actors in Toronto, whether you started at age 5, in your teens, or your twenties! Regardless of your experience, as a young actor, you’re paving the way for the artist you want to become.

Acting is a very independent career, your victories and your losses are yours and yours alone. YEAA is an assembly of people in the same boat as you, working together to share stories, resources and networks.

YEAA wants to work together with ACTRA to bring these people together. Our work is based on four pillars we aspire to work toward:

1. Resources

What is the CMF? Where do you get artist grants? What is the actor’s conservatory? Who are Toronto’s casting directors? What agents should I stay away from? What does ACTRA actually do for me? YEAA will help you answer these questions.

2. On-line Presence

YEAA is taking full advantage of the internet as a resource for self-promotion, networking and showcasing ACTRA members’ work! We will create an updated form of casting workbook where the control is in the actors’ hands. The world is changing and actors have to change with it.

3. Diversity

As storytellers in Toronto, it’s our privilege to have stories that reflect the diversity of our surroundings. YEAA are the artistic voices of the future, we can build an industry as strong as our stories are culturally diverse.

4. Star Power

Toronto’s actors are talented and we need to show them off. YEAA wants to create buzz around our actors who deserve it by promoting actors who are coming out with new work.
