This fall, we will hold elections for our ACTRA Toronto Council. ACTRA Toronto is a democratic organization, led by and elected by working members just like you.
On-set health and safety, working terms and conditions, preference of engagement, and work opportunities are a just few of the areas that require the attention of a thoughtful, creative and responsive elected leadership. The selection of that leadership is up to us. So, please, exercise your privilege as a FULL Member in good standing and get involved by nominating a member you respect or by choosing to run yourself.
Your 24 Councillors provide the vision to move our union forward, and they make the steering decisions that guide our managers and staff. Councillors should be patient, imaginative team players with well-developed communication skills, a strong desire to improve the working terms and conditions of their fellow performers and a good sense of humour. Broad experience working under ACTRA’s many agreements is preferred, and members representing all of ACTRA’s wonderful diversity of peoples and talents are encouraged to run.
Serving on ACTRA Toronto Council is fun, and it’s a great way to give something back while learning more about how our industry works in Toronto, in Ontario and across Canada. So consider running if you’re ready, or encourage someone you respect to run, if you’re not.
Remember, ACTRA Toronto Council Elections are conducted online. Nomination forms, candidates’ statements and online balloting information will all be sent to the email address we have on file for you so please ensure that your contact information is up to date.
