ACTRA Toronto Council in Action
ACTRA Toronto is the largest branch of our national union, ACTRA. It’s a busy place and there’s always a lot going on. This page will help you stay informed about the issues that your elected representatives are dealing with at the monthly ACTRA Toronto Council Meetings.
Welcome to your ACTRA Toronto Council
ACTRA is now in it’s 72nd year. Over the decades, we have been fortunate to see fellow performers step up to provide dedicated and mindful oversight to the business of our union, bringing stability and growth to ACTRA Toronto and to our industry. That tradition of service continues today.
Every 2 years, ACTRA Toronto members elect a Council of 24 full members in good standing to govern our union’s affairs. Taken together, their résumés reflect performance experiences under every contract and in every work category. Council meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month, with one month off in the summer. ACTRA Toronto Councillors are member volunteers who make their living as freelance performers. Our By-Laws recognize that work opportunities come first, and allows for Council to appoint alternates when Councillors are occasionally unavailable.
Below you will find the minutes of our ACTRA Toronto meetings. Note that these are action minutes, which list topics discussed and decisions taken.
