Running for Election to the ACTRA Toronto Stunt Committee

Attention ACTRA Toronto Stunt Community:

This fall, we will hold elections for our ACTRA Toronto Stunt Committee. The ACTRA Toronto Stunt Committee is composed of 5 elected members and 3 alternates. Once elected, the Stunt Committee elects a chairperson from the members of the committee.

What does the ACTRA Toronto Stunt Committee do?

Stunt Committee members bring their experience as stunt performers, their familiarity with our collective agreements, and their commitment to building work opportunities and improving health and safety on set to:

  • Address current issues facing stunt performers on-set
  • Reach out and involve ACTRA Toronto‚Äôs stunt performers in member conferences, workshops, events, and the collective bargaining process
  • Plan and engage in ACTRA Toronto’s legislative campaigns to build work opportunities and improve working conditions

Who is eligible to participate in this vote?

Eligibility requirements, nomination forms and everything you need to know about running as a candidate and voting in the 2019 ACTRA Toronto Stunt Committee Elections can be found in our  ACTRA Toronto Local Union Election Guide 2019.

Note, we are conducting ACTRA Toronto Council elections at the same time. Stunt performers who are eligible to run for the stunt committee may also run for a position on the ACTRA Toronto Council.

Again, eligibility requirements, nomination forms and everything you need to know about running as a candidate and voting in the 2019 ACTRA Toronto Council Elections can also be found in our  ACTRA Toronto Local Union Election Guide 2019.

Taking the next step

Stunt Committee members, in addition to their commitment and passion for their work, are strong team players, with well-developed communication skills, a sense of humour and a strong desire to improve the working terms and conditions of all performers.

As always, diversity is our strength. ACTRA Toronto is committed to gender equality and the representation of physically and culturally diverse performers throughout the union.

Consider running for the ACTRA Toronto Stunt Committee or encourage someone you respect to run.
