ACTRA Toronto is unable to assist in the payment recovery process for non-union productions. Compass Artist Clients who are are missing payments may be able to reach out directly to the non-union producer for help in recovery the payment from RBC, Compass Artist Management’s bank of record.


For Performers with RBC Accounts

If you are an RBC client (you have an RBC bank account), follow the steps below:

STEP ONE

READ the Information related to cheque fraud claims “intended payee not paid” letter of instructions from RBC (Compass Artist Management’s bank of record).

STEP TWO

DOWNLOAD and complete a RBC Declaration Form for EACH missing payment (i.e. each cheque/payment not received).

STEP THREE

Send the completed and signed form(s) for EACH missing payment, to the producer of the non-union project, along with a letter explaining that you did not receive the payment and asking for their assistance to recover the money. Include a copy of any paperwork that shows expected fee(s) & date(s) of work (emails, texts, etc.).


For performers who bank with financial institutions other than RBC

If you are NOT an RBC client (you do not have an RBC bank account), follow the steps below:

STEP ONE

READ the Information related to cheque fraud claims “intended payee not paid” letter of instructions from RBC (Compass Artist Management’s bank of record).

STEP TWO

DOWNLOAD and complete a CPA declaration form page 30(or the corresponding form from your own personal banking institution) for EACH missing payment (i.e. each cheque/payment not received).

STEP THREE

Send the completed and signed form(s) for EACH missing payment, to the producer of the non-union project, along with a letter explaining that you did not receive the payment and asking for their assistance to recover the money. Include a copy of any paperwork that shows expected fee(s) & date(s) of work (emails, texts, etc.).
