Toronto, January 8, 2016 – ACTRA Toronto is pleased to announce the appointment of Alistair Hepburn to the position of Director of Independent and Broadcast Production Film, Television and Digital Media at ACTRA Toronto. Alistair was most recently a Business Representative with ACTRA’s sister union Canadian Actors’ Equity Association (Equity). He specialized in the Canadian Theatre Agreement, the Stratford Addendum and the Independent Theatre Agreement. A former freelance Production Manager with a deep background in arts and cultural advocacy in Toronto, Alistair has worked with Mirvish Productions, Ross Petty Productions, and Canadian Stage, to name a few.

“Alistair’s long industry experience as Director of Production and more recently at Canadian Actors’ Equity has made him a strong advocate for performers and a welcome addition to the ACTRA Toronto team,” said Sue Milling, Executive Director of ACTRA Toronto.

ACTRA Toronto’s Independent and Broadcast Film, Television and Digital Media department stewards the work of performers in all types of recorded entertainment including games, web series, animation, and audiobooks as well as conventional television and film. Hepburn began work with ACTRA Toronto on January 4, 2016.

ACTRA Toronto is the largest organization within ACTRA, representing over 15,000 of Canada’s 22,000 professional performers working in recorded media in Canada. As an advocate for Canadian culture since 1943, ACTRA is a member-driven organization that continues to secure rights and respect for the work of professional performers.
