“It is fitting, during this extraordinary time when women’s voices are fighting to be heard, that ACTRA Toronto is splitting the voice award into female and male categories,” says President Theresa Tova. “Voice Co-Chair Linda Ballantyne was a powerful advocate for this change. It’s only fair to give female voice performers more recognition.” Tova further notes, “It is wonderful to see repeat nominees: Emilie-Claire Barlow, Lilly Bartlam, Seán Cullen, Cory Doran, Julie Lemieux, Bryn McAuley and Gord Rand.”

ACTRA Toronto is the largest organization within ACTRA, representing over 15,000 of Canada’s 25,000 professional performers working in recorded media in Canada. As an advocate for Canadian culture since 1943, ACTRA is a member-driven union that continues to secure rights and respect for the work of professional performers.
