Welcome to your ACTRA Toronto Council

Since ACTRA’s beginnings in 1943, we have been fortunate to see fellow performers step up to provide dedicated and mindful oversight to the business of our union, bringing stability and growth to ACTRA Toronto and to our industry. That tradition of service continues today.

Every 2 years, ACTRA Toronto members elect a Council of 24 full members in good standing to govern our union’s affairs. Taken together, their résumés reflect performance experiences under every contract and in every work category. Council meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month, with one month off in the summer. ACTRA Toronto Councillors are member volunteers who make their living as freelance performers. Our By-Laws recognize that work opportunities come first, and allows for Council to appoint alternates when Councillors are occasionally unavailable.
